Why the tank matters
The pressure tank is what lets the pump rest between runs. When its air charge is gone or the bladder fails, the pump starts every time a tap opens. You hear it clicking, you see the pressure jump around, and the pump wears out years early. A tank is one of the cheapest parts of the system to replace and one of the most expensive to ignore.
Signs your tank is done
The pump clicks on and off every few seconds while water runs. The gauge swings fast and never settles. Tapping the top of the tank sounds full instead of hollow. There's rust at the seams or a puddle underneath. Any one of those is worth a call.
What we install
Amtrol Well-X-Trol tanks, sized for how the house actually uses water, with the air charge and the pressure switch set to match. Older galvanized tanks get upgraded to a bladder tank, and the gauge, tank tee and relief valve get checked while we're there.
