Ackerman Pump Company is a family well pump service company in Hewitt, NJ. This page explains what information we collect when you use our websites, how we use it, and the tools we use to run the business. We keep it short because there isn't much to it: we're here to fix pumps, not to trade in data.
Who this is
Ackerman Pump Company, Inc., 1990 Union Valley Road, Hewitt, NJ 07421. Questions about this policy go to [email protected], which reaches the agency that manages our websites and advertising on our behalf (BerrySmart, West Milford, NJ).
The websites this policy covers
ackermanpump.com and content.ackermanpump.com, including the service pages, the answer pages and the landing pages our ads point to.
What we collect, and why
- What you send us. If you call, text or fill in a form, we get what you give us: your name, phone number, address, and what's wrong with your water. We use it to call you back, schedule the visit and do the job. We don't sell it or hand it to anyone who isn't part of doing that work.
- Site analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 and our own lightweight page beacon to count visits, see which pages people read, and notice when someone taps a phone number. This tells us which pages help and which don't. IP addresses are used by Google Analytics for approximate location and are not stored by us.
- Advertising measurement. We run Google Ads. Google places cookies so that when an ad click turns into a call, we can tell the ad worked. Google's own privacy policy governs what Google does with that; you can opt out of personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.
- Reviews and social. If you leave a review on Google, Facebook or Instagram, it's public on that platform under its rules. We read reviews so we can answer them.
Cookies
Our pages set the cookies Google Analytics and Google Ads need to do the counting described above, and nothing else. You can block or clear them in your browser and the site keeps working.
The business accounts we connect to
To see how the company is doing online, our systems read reporting data from the accounts we own: Google Ads, Google Business Profile, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, our Facebook Page and Instagram account, and the scheduling tool we post with. This is our business data (spend, impressions, calls, followers, post reach), not data about you individually.
Google user data. Where we sign in with a Google account to read Google Ads and Google Business Profile reporting, the access is read-only. We use it only to produce internal reports for Ackerman Pump Company. It stays on our own server and is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used to build profiles of anyone. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Access can be withdrawn at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Photos of your job
Sometimes we take a picture of a finished pump or tank install. We don't post a photo that shows your house, your address or you without asking first.
How long we keep things
Job records stay as long as we might need them to service the equipment we installed, which for a well pump can be many years. Analytics and advertising data are kept by Google under its retention settings (14 months for our Google Analytics property). Our own reporting copies keep daily totals, not individual visitors.
Your choices
Ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at the email above. We'll do it unless the law or an active warranty needs us to keep a record.
Children
Our sites are for homeowners and property managers. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes up here with a new effective date.
This policy applies to the websites and business accounts named above. It doesn't cover third-party sites we link to.
